Colors


Flag







After Cameroon became a unitary state its flag was adopted as we know it now at days .
it is made up of vertical tricolor of green, red and yellow with a five-pointed star in the middle of the flag 
- Red and Star: represents unity
- Green : corresponds forests in the southern part of Cameroon 
- Yellow: stands for the sun and savannas in the northern par of the country 




Music







The music of Cameroon is very popular, its characterized by having one of the best rhythms of Africa and its listened all over the world. 

  • The MAKOSSA tha means ¨La danza¨ style started at 1950, its most listened in Urban zones and the most representative artist are Eboa Lotin, Ngoh Misse and specially Manu Dibango because he popularized that type of music out of Cameroon. They usually use bass guitars and wind instruments.
  • The BIKUTSI style literally means ¨beat the earth¨ its was appeared in 1940 whit the recording of Anne- Marie Nzie, they usually use keybords and guitars and with rivals Makossa are the country most renowned styles.


Rituals

The most important rituals in Cameroon are:
  • Mevungu: Its a ritual where they dance all the night for abstain of having sexual relations for a couple of hours in nine days and its about the pass from childhood to adults.
  • Pilgrimate to Meca: It a ritual in witch they represent the honor offerings palm oil, special food, wine, chickens to the ancestors and spirits.
  • Bamileke: Its a ethic group very important in Cameroon, they rituals are by practice divination and make public performances autopsies to determinate the cause of death. The death is announced thought public wailing by women.
